Dancing Stars, one of the most popular and glamorous shows in the world, will air in bTV’s primetime this spring. The show is based on the format of the world-renowned BBC Worldwide brand Dancing with the Stars, where celebrities from various fields dance with professionals.

bTV’s show will feature 16 Bulgarian celebrities from the world of show business, culture, and public life. They will be trained by professional dancers to perform standard, sports, and modern dances. Their performances will be judged live by a jury and by bTV's viewers in an SMS vote. The victor will win a special title.

Dancing with the Stars was created in 2004. It quickly spread globally, to Australia, Russia, Brazil, and China, as well as many European countries. So far, the format has been licensed in over 30 countries and is an absolute hit among millions of viewers worldwide.

In the US, the format won two Emmy awards in 2006 – for outstanding technical direction and camerawork and for outstanding costumes. It has four Emmy nominations for reality-competition programme, art direction, and choreography. In the UK, the show won the Rose d’Or award in 2007 for best variety show, competing with reality shows from 12 different countries. It is also the winner of two best reality programme prizes at the Tric Awards and two TV Quick & TV Choice awards for best talent show. The show has three BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) nominations, and in 2006, it won the prestigious Kristallen award in Sweden.
